1966 Superformance GT40 Mark II Coupe

Final Bid: $ 110,000.00

This 1966 GT40 MK II series collectable is licensed and endorsed by Safir GT40 Spares Limited, the original holders of the GT40 trademark, as a true continuation series of the original. Historically, the Ford developed GT40 MK II's raced to victory in 1966 with 1-2-3 finish in the 24 Hour Le Mans. As the 44th GT40 manufactured by Superformance LLC, this GT40 carries status as car number SPG0044 and is recorded in the official GT40 registry under chassis number GT40 P/2144. More than 90% of the parts are interchangeable with the original car - this is a street and track vehicle based on the original racecar concept, design, configuration and dimensions.

To highlight the chassis, is a precise replication of the original monocoque unibody structure with a pressed steel roof, the suspension is a layout of the original racecar as well. Modern additions include Wilwood brakes, custom Bilstein shocks with H&R springs, and a cross flow radiator deemed to be more efficient. Power is supplied by a specially prepared Roush 402R Dart Block engine with 515+HP and over 500+ ft. lbs. of torque. Extending out from the polished ZF/RBT 5-speed transaxle are the Bundle of Snakes headers. This car weighs just over 2300 lbs. and feeds your craving for breathtaking acceleration, exceptional handling and powerful braking. It has an excess speed of over 200 miles per hour.

The exterior body color is Dark Silver with Ferrari Grigio Titanium ghost-like stripes topside. A Gurney bubble is present on the left hand driver's side offering additional headroom in the cockpit. The black interior is outfitted with original style seats (fitted with 4 point harness safety belts) and a race-style dash with Smith gauges. Carroll Shelby's autograph is present on the passenger side dash. The leather wrapped steering wheel is removable allowing easy cockpit access, and the pedal box also has different mounting spots affording flexibility in the amount of legroom for the driver. The cabin is cooled with factory-installed air conditioning. This GT40 has less than 1600 miles, is fully sorted and tuned, and shows and drives most incredibly. It commands well-deserved attention, as others know this car is something extraordinary when they see and hear it.
